We may collect personal information from Users in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, when Users visit our Sites, register for one of our “Exam-AID” initiatives, attend an Outreach Trip, subscribe to the newsletter, participate in our contests and in connection with other activities, services, features or resources we make available on or through our Sites. Users may be asked for, as appropriate, name, email address, mailing address, phone number. We generally only collect personal information from Users if they voluntarily submit such information to us. Users can always refuse to supply personal information, except that it may prevent them from engaging in certain Site related activities or participating in products and services offered by Students Offering Support.
We may collect non-personal information about a User’s interaction with our Sites. Non-personal information may include the browser name, the type of computer and technical information about Users’ means of connection to our Sites, such as the operating system and other similar information.

How we use collected information
Students Offering Support may collect and use Users’ personal information for the following purposes:
- – To register student accounts
We may use the information Users provide to create an account on our Sites, allowing them access to the education services and outreach trip information provided by Students Offering Support.
- – To process payments
We may use the information Users provide about themselves when placing an order to provide service to that order. We use the third-party to handle all credit card transactions. No personal payment information is viewed or stored within our database or any of our Sites.
- – To send periodic emails
We may use the email address to send Users information and updates pertaining to their involvement with Students Offering Support. It may also be used to respond to their inquiries, questions, and/or other requests. All Users have the ability to opt-out out of all communication through their profile.
We may collect and use personal information for other purposes with User consent or as permitted or required by law.
How we protect your information
We adopt data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures that are appropriate to the sensitivity of the information that are designed to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of your personal information. We will establish a file of your personal information which will be stored on our servers and will be accessible to our authorized employees who require access for the purposes described above.
Sharing your personal information
We may share aggregated demographic information not linked to any personal information regarding visitors or Users with our business partners, trusted affiliates and advertisers for the purposes outlined above.
We may use third party service providers to provide various services to us such as: hosting and maintaining our web sites, database and information management, data analysis or other processing services on our behalf, some or all of which may be located outside of Canada. We take reasonable measures to ensure that your personal information that may be collected, used, disclosed or otherwise processed by these service providers on our behalf is protected and not used or disclosed for purposes other than as directed by us, subject to legal requirements in foreign jurisdictions applicable to those organizations, for example, lawful requirements to disclose personal information to government authorities in those countries.
We may disclose personal information in other circumstances with your consent or as permitted or required by law.
Your acceptance of these terms
By using our Sites or participating in our products and services, you signify your acceptance of this policy. If you do not agree to this policy, please do not use our Sites or participate in our products or services. Your continued use of our Sites, or any of our products or services, following the posting of changes to this policy will be deemed your acceptance of those changes.
